In January a new built Cutter Sucction Dredger 500 ‘Akash 1’ was handed over to her owners Akash Dredging & Marine Services from Visakhapatnam in India. After an extensive training program the CSD started its operation on the Indian West Coast. With the acquisition of the ‘Akash 1’ Akash Dredging & Marine Services started its program of fleet renewal and expansion for nternational dredging projects.
